A visionary composer with over four decades of experience in composition and production, Stallings has collaborated with ensembles ranging from a diverse mix of chamber groups and electronic music, to full orchestral works for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. His has worked with a wide variety of organizations, individuals and events including a commission for the opening of the Donald W. Nixon Center for The Performing & Visual Arts in Coweta County GA.

Jim Stallings is a visionary composer with over four decades of experience in composition and production. His distinctive approach blends orchestral arrangements with contemporary electronic textures, creating soundscapes that challenge conventional genre boundaries. Stallings has collaborated with ensembles ranging from a diverse mix of chamber groups and electronic music, to full orchestral works.
His scores have been commissioned by a variety of organizations and individuals including commissions for weddings, schools, college ensembles, and orchestras. Notable works include Špela, for chamber orchestra, Prophesy, for percussion ensemble and electronics, Mystings for chamber ensemble, visual artist and electronics, Victory at Brown's Mill, for High School wind ensemble, Catedral Del Sol, for percussion and trombone, Small Scapes, for quiet percussion, and Images of the Southwest, for Brass ensemble, along with 3 seasons of writing for the Atlanta Symphony's Symphony Street Concerts.
His production and arranging credits include 2 albums co-produced with Kathryn Webster for the jazz folk duo, The Listening Wall, 2 albums for the ensemble Elevation 120, an album of Roots music for the Frontier Culture Museum along with many symphonic and choral works in collaboration with the Atlanta composer Doug Hooker.
